Evercore Asia Expresses Interest in Cambodia’s Growth

Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of January 8, 2025, Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia welcomed Keith Magnus, President of Evercore Asia, for a courtesy call at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, Magnus praised Cambodia’s achievements across various sectors and commended the Royal Government for launching the Five-Point Strategy—Phase 1, aimed at realizing Cambodia’s Vision 2050. He provided an overview of Evercore Asia's business operations and expressed the firm’s interest in fostering cooperation with Cambodia in renewable energy, healthcare, and tourism.

In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his appreciation for Evercore Asia’s interest in Cambodia's development. He highlighted the country’s energy development policy, noting that Cambodia currently relies on over 62% renewable energy, with a target of achieving 70% by 2030.

The Prime Minister also discussed the introduction of supportive policies for the healthcare sector, emphasizing the importance of strengthening and expanding health services throughout the country. Additionally, he pointed out Cambodia's potential in various other sectors, such as agriculture, manufacturing, and finance.

Hun Manet encouraged Evercore Asia and other companies to engage in further discussions with relevant ministries and institutions, promoting connections and collaboration between the private sector abroad and local Cambodian enterprises.
